The expanded world of Marvel has shown itself to be continuous and never short of possibilities for new people to include. Come December 15, 2028, Marvel Studios will release a new film. According to Variety, this new release marks the fourth film from the “division set” for the 2028 calendar year, with previously announced films scheduled for release in February, May, and November. While it’s too early to know for sure if these release dates are set in stone, the film releases contrast with an earlier statement from Disney CEO Bob Iger’s recent admission that Marvel “lost a little focus by making too much.”
Despite Disney’s history of adhering to release dates for feature projects “well past when those films could realistically make those dates” this was a decision made to “ensure [future release dates] remain available for other films.” An example being Marvel’s Blade removal from its predicted November 2025 release date only after Disney was ready to claim the same time slot for the 20th Century Studios film Predator: Badlands.

Variety reports that the 2026 and 2027 releases are set for Spider-Man: Brand New Day (a co-production with Sony Pictures) in July and Avengers: Doomsday in December; and two films in 2027—an untitled project in July and Avengers: Secret Wars in December. No matter what film from Marvel or Sony is set to release in the upcoming years, there remains a wide variety of films for fans to choose from. Marvel and Disney have retained their focus to provide their viewers with amazing and relatable stories, despite the CGI and superhero outfits. That promise has been delivered again and again.
