Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot were originally filmed to have character cameos in the upcoming film, The Flash opposite Ezra Miller’s titular character. Unfortunately, James Gunn and Peter Safran have reportedly deleted their scenes due to the recent changes in the creative direction of the DC Universe.

Fans learned last week that Cavill will no longer portray Superman in the popular franchise moving forward as the direction may be looking at casting a younger actor to focus on earlier moments in the character’s life. Additionally, we learned that plans for Wonder Woman 3 have also been altered by the new leadership. The film will not be happening at this time, it is unclear however if Gal Godot will reprise her role in the film franchise moving forward.

The release date for The Flash has been moved up to June 16, 2023. This strategic timing will be one week after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and two weeks before Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. This decision was made by Warner Bros. just before Gunn and Safran took over the DC Universe. A sequel to The Flash is rumored to already have a possible script but no details have been released as of yet. It is unknown whether Miller’s personal life will play a role in the future of The Flash franchise or the actor’s reprisal of his role.

While Gadot and Cavill will be missed by fans, there should be some excitement as both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will be seen on the big screen once again as two separate versions of Batman. The Flash will hit theaters on June 16, 2023!
