Jason Issacs Reveals The Low Pay They Receive On 'The White Lotus'

The cat is out of the proverbial bag about the pay for actors, including esteemed ones such as Jason Isaacs, currently starring on the latest hit television series, The White Lotus (2021- ), which was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2023 for series actress Jennifer Coolidge. This information was recently provided by Issacs, who admitted to taking a (relatively) low salary of $40K per episode, like his less experienced co-stars. However, he is not one to complain about it.
“Do I mind that I wasn’t paid more than other people? I never work for money,” he said. “I mean, I’ve done all right. People will think I have huge stockpiles of money, but sadly, what I’ve done rather immaturely is expand my outgoings to match my incomings and pretty much spent everything I’ve earned over the years.”
Salary information for actors is usually not released publicly, or at least as far as Issacs initially thought; however, he and his castmates recently did confirm that information for an interview for Vulture on June 16:
“I didn’t know that was public knowledge,” the actor told the outlet. “That’s absolutely true. Generally actors don’t talk about pay in public because it’s ridiculously disproportionate to what we do — putting on makeup and funny voices — and just upsets the public.”
White Lotus is currently streaming on Max and finished its third season in April. The series has been renewed for a fourth season.
