Marvel Comics fans can rejoice as their beloved neighborhood Spider-Man, Peter Parker, is set to return to the familiar streets of New York City in Marvel Studios' upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, confirmed during a Fantastic Four First Steps press event that Parker will be back in action, dealing with street-level crime alongside Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, for the upcoming film.
As reported by Collider from the press event, Feige said, “I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man Him being himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with- for lack of better terms - street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.”

Marvel Studios has proven its prowess in street-level storytelling, a fact underscored by the success of its most recent series, Daredevil: Born Again, featuring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. The character's relentless crusade through the streets of New York City has resonated with audiences, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Feige then shed light on the decision to introduce Castle into the Spider-Man narrative, saying, “So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we’ve never seen him interact with? And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic.” This intriguing decision promises a fresh and unexpected dynamic in the upcoming film.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is scheduled to release in theaters on July 31, 2026.
