James Gunn’s Superman (2025) has been a fairly successful film thus far, attaining the highest opening for a solo Superman film and firmly kicking off the film side of the DCU reboot. It seems the film, and Krypto the Superdog in particular, has found an interesting new impact to add to the list.  Following the film’s release, the dog training company Woofz noted an uptick in online dog adoption queries. In an article discussing the pros and cons of adopting older dogs, the company brings up these findings.

Woofz reported that the query “adopt a dog near me” increased by 513%, “rescue dog adoption near me” increased by 163%, and “adopt a puppy” increased by 31%. A Krypto-specific search based on his breed, “adopt a schnauzer,” increased by 299% as well.  Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment and not something to be taken lightly. Natalia Shahmetova, CEO of Woofz, reminded people, “Adoption is a real commitment. The hype will fade, but your dog will stay, so make sure you’re ready to give them the time, care, and training they need and deserve.” It wasn’t just Internet searches; Warner Bros. partnered with Best Friends Animal Society for a brief period to cover adoption fees, resulting in 454 adoptions!

Tickets for Superman (2025) are now available. The film focuses on Clark Kent in his early years as Superman, showing how the hero faces his alien heritage against his upbringing on Earth, and how he deals with public perception and increasing visibility.  It is the second overall installment to the DCU reboot and the first film in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. When the film goes digital, it will most likely be available to stream on HBO Max, as the film is a Warner Bros. project.
