Star Wars fans have been anxiously awaiting news about season two of Tales of the Jedi after it was announced last year that a season two was in the works. We were all surprised when the official Star Wars X account released a trailer for Tales of the Empire last week.

The trailer features some favorite characters from both live-action and animated content, and it makes us wonder if this series may become an anthology rather than a regular series. The two-minute and nine-second trailer made it clear that while the second season will follow season one stylistically it will follow characters connected to the Galactic Empire rather than characters connected to the Republic.

Morgan Elsbeth who fans know from The Mandalorian/Ahsoka and Barriss Offee who we know from The Clone Wars animated series will take center stage in the six-episode season. Fans will get to follow a young Elsbeth as she attempts to navigate her path for vengeance against those who killed her sisters and former Jedi Offee as she begins training to become an inquisitor for the Empire. Other notable characters seen in the trailer included Darth Vader, General Grievous, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and the Grand Inquisitor.

You can stream season one of Tales of the Jedi on Disney+ and catch Tales of the Empire when it premieres on May 4th!
