Massive Entertainment has a very cool opportunity open at the moment: they need playtesters for their new Star Wars game!  Playtesters are a common approach for game developers during the creation process, and if you’re in or around Malmö, Sweden, this could be your chance.

This game being developed will be an open-world style with an underlying story driving the player.  Not much has been released regarding the plot, but the developers promise a commitment to producing something memorable.  It will be utilizing the Snowdrop engine, a cutting-edge piece of technology that immerses the player in the game.  Other games using Snowdrop include Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, and Starlink: Battle for Atlas.

What is a playtester exactly?  A developer needs to test the game out, gauging how an average person may approach it and interact with the mechanics.  This role can include sniffing out bugs and glitches, and figuring out what goes smoothly and what needs a bit of reform.  While you’re playing the game, it isn’t a one-off type of approach; things may get repetitive as you do a section over and over for quality assurance.

Currently, they are prioritizing people local to Malmö, Sweden rather than those with a massive commute, as that is where their headquarters is located.  That’s not to say anyone else shouldn’t keep an eye on this opportunity, but it is something to keep in mind.  More details can be found here, or the original Twitter thread can be found below!
