May 26, 2026, Revealed As Release Date For 'Grand Theft Auto VI'

Rockstar Games has announced the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI in a new post on their newswire. Though the first trailer released more than a year ago dated the game for 2025, the date given is May 26, 2026. Though it might be later then many might have wished, Rockstar are aware of that.

The newswire post reveals, “We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience and we work to finish the game. With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”

Officially announced in December 2023, Grand Theft Auto VI will take players back to Vice City as Lucia and her partner. Exploring the state of Leonida, the first trailer showcased many areas of this fictional Florida, including the Keys and Everglades National Park. Rockstar Games stated in the newswire that they “look forward to sharing more information with you soon.”
