Lucasfilm released a story trailer for their upcoming racing game Star Wars: Galactic Racer, at Summer Game Fest. The trailer opens with the player character Shade being welcomed to Dervan Acos, which reportedly has all possible planetary conditions, letting players test their skills. Sebulba then reprimands Shade for making friends with the other pilots. The trailer then cuts to Kestar Bool warning Shade to stay out of his way. According to StarWars.com, “Kestar Bool is the star of the Outer Rim’s Galactic League, using his position as League Champion to intimidate other pilots and extend his powerful reach even farther. Shade, an up-and-coming racer with a personal grudge against the Bool family, enters the League with an eye firmly on unseating the corrupt champion.
In addition to the main racing mechanics, players will also be able to explore padlocks to talk to other racers, complete challenges, and offer support. Shade can also visit Hibi’s workshop on any planet’s padlock to place new parts earned from other runs or buy upgrades directly from you. The game includes a solo Campaign mode, a Scenario mode, and an Arcade mode. Players will be able to forge their own path in solo mode with unique unlockables. Star Wars: Galactic Racer releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 6, 2026.
