A new mobile-exclusive Sonic game has been announced: Sonic Blitz. Developed by Rovio, the game is described as a “lightning-fast” collectible card game that can be jumped into “at any time.” The official blurb on SEGA's website is as follows:
“Sonic Blitz is a collectible card game with an emphasis on lightning-fast gameplay that is easy to jump into at any time. Sonic Blitz draws on the rich roster of characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe to create a diverse pool of cards that players can collect, upgrade, and assemble into strategic decks to take on opponents in fast-paced one-on-one battles that unfold in a matter of minutes.”
The game has already launched in the Philippines for a technical test period, and this has led to data miners investigating the code and finding some interesting inclusions to the game's roster. SEGA and Rovio might not be kidding when they say Sonic Blitz draws on the franchise's “rich roster of characters.” Data miners have revealed references to several diverse characters from across the extended Sonic universe. There have been mentions of even the most obscure of characters such as Honey the Cat, Modern Mighty the Armadillo, the conductor from The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, and even Princess Sally Acorn from the 1993 Sonic the Hedgehog Saturday Morning cartoon and the long-running Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics that were published from 1993 to 2017.

If the leaks are accurate, then this would mark her first appearance since the last issue of the Archie Sonic comics. However, some are questioning the accuracy of these leaks, noting that Sally's bio is copied from the Sonic Speed Zone wiki. Others note that it may be just placeholder text, as noted by the Rally4Sally campaign's post on X.
Regardless, this is looking to be a rather intriguing title. There is no word on Sonic Blitz's global release at this time.
