Harry Potter fans, this is a momentous occasion! The first photo of the highly anticipated new HBO Max series has been unveiled. Producers of the show have given us a glimpse of Dominic McLaughlin as the legendary Boy Who Lived and Nick Frost as the endearing Rubeus Hagrid. McLaughlin is seen in Harry’s iconic Gryffindor uniform, while Frost dons the familiar long beard and hair from Robbie Coltrane’s portrayal of Hagrid in the original films.

The series, a labor of love, will be filmed at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, and is anticipated to take 10 years to complete. Rory Wilmot has been cast as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley and John Lithgow as Dumbledore.

The series has a noble goal-to bring to life more of the intricate plot lines from the books that had to be omitted in the original films. This promises a more comprehensive and nuanced storytelling experience for the fans. Adriano Goldman, the Director of Photography, known for his work on projects like The Crown, is part of the team bringing this vision to life.

The Harry Potter series will debut in 2027.
