Irresistible Star Wars cutie Grogu made a surprise appearance at the Academy Awards on Sunday. The little guy was shown when his dad, Pedro Pascal, and his The Mandalorian and Grogu co-star, Sigourney Weaver, presented the award for Best Visual Effects and Best Production Design at the 98th Annual Academy Awards. Pedro and Sigourney’s appearance was confirmed before the event, and there was buzz that a famous father-son duo would attend the show. The audience, and Grogu, were left in shock when Weaver demanded, “Get away from him, you bitch!” Grogu might be a little too young for that kind of language, and Pascal apologized to Kate Hudson for Sigourney’s tone, but the moment became viral on the internet. The skit continued with host Conan O’Brien pointing out that Grogu can’t clap. The Oscars have a diverse audience of movie lovers worldwide, and Disney took advantage of this as an opportunity to air a one-minute-long TV spot for The Mandalorian and Grogu. The spot included footage from the trailer, which was introduced by Grogu. The film’s composer, Ludwig Göransson, was also present and won his third Academy Award for his work on Sinners. It’s safe to say that after a slow start, Disney’s promotion of the film is now in full swing.
