Even for a show where the main character hardly speaks for most of the first season, The Mandalorian has a lot of iconic and quotable lines spoken by Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin. The actor’s voice work for ‘Mando’ tends to get overlooked because of the character’s intense action scenes, performed by stuntman Lateef Crowder. However, for the majority of the series, the only way to understand Din’s personality and read his emotions was through Pascal’s voice modulation and his brief lines of dialogue.
After all, he is a Mandalorian, but Djarin has uttered a fair share of memorable lines that fans not only remember but quote from time to time. For a man who doesn’t speak often, he always manages to convey his emotions perfectly, revealing the heart and soul of the man who’s protected from head to toe by beskar. Here are 10 of Din Djarin’s best lines from The Mandalorian.

10. “I’m A Mandalorian, Weapons Are Part Of My Religion.”

Mandalorians are known for their weapons, and they’re not afraid to use them. In Chapter 2 of the show, Djarin was livid when Jawas stripped his ship of parts, but the Ugnaught Kuiil offered to help him negotiate with the Jawas to get them back. When they asked him for his weapons in exchange for the parts, he answered with a now iconic line: “I’m a Mandalorian. Weapons are part of my religion.” This casual admission summarized what Din held dear in his life at that point, but that was all about to change soon. This line was repeated by him again in The Book of Boba Fett, but now that he has adopted Grogu, we wonder what he considers a part of his “religion.”
9. “A Mandalorian And A Jedi, They’ll Never See It Coming.”

Ahsoka Tano made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2, and even though Din went to Corvus to see if Tano would agree to train Grogu, they ended up working together. This resulted in the most interesting dynamic, with Djarin’s aggressive Mandalorian fighting style and Tano’s more discreet Samurai style. In response to the idea of ambushing Elsbeth as a duo, Din made an interesting comment: “A Mandalorian and a Jedi? They’ll never see it coming.” While this was Din’s first time meeting a trained Jedi, even he knew it was a rare feat to work together with one. That line also holds for Grogu, who’s a Mandalorian Jedi and a formidable warrior in the making for possessing the best of both worlds.
8. “I Can Bring You In Warm, Or I Can Bring You In Cold.”

Din Djarin wasn’t into small talk, and he made it clear in Chapter 1 when he admitted that he would capture his bounty, dead or alive. He has softened quite a bit since then, but at times, you can still see his ruthless bounty hunter side come out. This line is up there as one of Din’s most quotable ones, and it’s a great reminder of how far he has come as a character.
7. “Traveling With Me, That’s No Life For A Kid.”

Mando thought he had completed his job by finding Grogu a peaceful place to live on Sorgan among farmers. In a conversation with Cara Dune, he told her about his decision to leave the kid on the planet, because he thought “traveling with me, that’s no life for a kid.” The irony is, reality couldn’t be more different. From Grogu’s point of view, going on adventures with his father seems like the most fun he’s ever had. Grogu gets to ride on a fast ship with Dad, visit different planets, eat lots of food, and have a caring guardian to protect him from all the bad guys they encounter. This sad confession revealed that Djarin understood that a child deserved to have a warm home and safety, but believed he couldn’t provide it because of his lifestyle.
6. “Wherever I Go, He Goes.”

By the time Season 2 rolled out, Din Djarin and Grogu were inseparable. Though he often kept Grogu on his ship while he went on dangerous missions in Season 1, Season 2 showed that wherever Din went, Grogu followed along. Din couldn’t take his eyes off his tiny companion, and when the Clan of Two arrived on Nevarro, Mando didn’t feel comfortable leaving him at school. Greef Karga had to coax him, and that’s when Din said, “But wherever I go, he goes.” This line became popular because it was used in the Season 2 trailer as well, and it foreshadowed their lives together as a family. Regardless of how risky Din’s missions are, Grogu will always be by his side.
5. “I Like Those Odds.”

“I like those odds.” is one of the most badass lines from the series. When Din Djarin met The Client in the first episode, he faced off against Stormtroopers who had him outnumbered 4-to-1. Unfortunately for them, Din “likes those odds.” Taking on multiple opponents is no big deal for the cool bounty hunter, who pointed his blaster at one and his pulse rifle at another. This is a line you can quote under similar scenarios in real life where you’re up against more than one opponent or problem. But hopefully, they won’t be pointing their blasters at you! Jon Favreau repeated this line in Season 3, so he’s probably aware of how iconic it is.
4. “It Did Not Know It Was My Enemy.”

One of the most honest confessions of the series came from Din Djarin in Season 1. When The Armorer told Din that he had earned his Mudhorn signet, he told her that he didn’t deserve it because he hadn’t killed the Mudhorn on his own. He says, “I was helped by an enemy”, to which The Armorer asks, “Why would an enemy help you in battle?” This is when Din accepted that the child “did not know it was my enemy.” At this moment, the wheels must have been turning in Djarin’s mind that his “enemy” was an infant who was completely innocent and unaware of what would happen to him. This line proves that sometimes the hardest-hitting character moments are the simplest. It doesn’t always take a monologue to move the audience.
3. “Don’t Be Afraid.”

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Din Djarin removed his helmet to look at Grogu with his own eyes. This moment from Chapter 16 parallels one of the franchise’s most heartbreaking scenes, when Anakin Skywalker asks Luke to help him take off his mask, so he could look at his son with his own eyes. When Din removes his helmet to look at Grogu, he senses that the little guy is afraid to leave him. As Grogu reaches out to touch Din’s cheek, he smiles and says, “Don’t be afraid”. This is the most heartfelt moment of the series, capped off by Din’s sweet words to reassure his son, and Pedro Pascal’s phenomenal acting.
2. “This Is The Way”

“This is the way” is the modern-day Star Wars version of “May the Force be with you”, and just as popular. Even people who aren’t Star Wars fans, and who may not have seen an episode of The Mandalorian, have probably heard it. When Din Djarin says “This is the way”, he believes it. It represents his strict adherence to the Creed and his devotion to the way of the Mand’alor. It’s a meaningful line, but it also sounds great, and it’s easy to remember. This makes it one of the best to come out of the series.
1. “He Means More To Me Than You Will Ever Know.”

“He means more to me than you will ever know” is a line from The Mandalorian, Chapter 15, “The Believer.” Din Djarin sends a hologram message to Moff Gideon, who kidnapped Grogu in the previous episode. After removing his helmet to obtain the coordinates to Gideon’s ship, Din sends him a message where he repeats, word for word, every line Gideon once said to him regarding Grogu. The difference is, while Gideon refers to Grogu as an “it”, Din refers to him as “he.” This shows that while Grogu is a valuable asset to Gideon, he’s a living, breathing child who means more to Din than Gideon will ever know. No one, including Gideon, has any idea how much Mando loves Grogu, and the lengths he’s willing to go to save him. This line summarizes his love for the child who has become his whole world, and it is a simple but extremely touching example of why the show resonated with so many people.
