A New 'Venom' Movie Has Been Confirmed

At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, a cameo from Tom Hardy’s Venom gave fans a hope for a crossover. Sony producer Amy Pascal joined Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast to discuss the future of the character. When asked about the potential crossover, she replied, “It would be great, let’s put it that way.” Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige added, “We always have hope.” It seems that Venom won’t cross back over into the MCU any time soon, but that doesn’t mean Sony is finished with him.
The live-action series of Venom movies came to a close with The Last Dance, when Venom sacrificed himself to save the world. Now, Sony wants to tell a new story in an animated movie. The Venom animated movie was previously announced in February with Zach Liposky and Adam B. Stein attached as directors. Hardy will be a producer for this film, but it isn’t known if he will reprise the character as a voice actor. Most of Sony’s live-action Spider-Man Universe has flopped, with Venom being the exception. In this new animated format, they could actually bring Spider-Man into the film. This possibility already has fans speculating about a Spider-Verse tie-in. In the meantime, Spidey fans can see his latest outing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters on July 31, 2026, or delve into Spider-Noir on Prime Video.
