'Child's Play' Stunt Performer Ed Gale Dead At 61

Actor and stunt performer Ed Gale has passed away at the age of 61. According to sources, he was in hospice care at the time, and no cause of death has been given as of this writing. He was survived by his niece Kayse Gale, who wrote, “It is with a heavy heart and a surprisingly light coffin (see what I did there?) that we announce the sudden passing of our uncle Ed Gale has taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife.” She went on a bit about his career and life, eulogizing him on her Facebook.
Ed Gale was born with dwarfism on Aug. 23, 1963, in Plainwell, Michigan. Heading to Hollywood in the 80s, his first role would be that of Howard the Duck in the titular 1986 movie, though Howard was voiced by Chip Zien. His most famous role was that of Charles “Chucky” Lee Roth, whose main actor was Brad Dourif, possessing the “Good Guy” doll in the Child’s Play film series. He played the role in Child’s Play (1988), Child’s Play 2 (1990), and Bride of Chucky (1998).
