Star Wars: Ahsoka left fans on a cliffhanger two years ago. Now, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays Hera Syndulla in the series, gave an update at the premiere for The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. Speaking to Taylor Gates of Collider, Syndulla said, “You know, I’m not sure what I can say, other than I’m in this season a bit more, which is fun. I’m definitely in on the action, as you say, quite a bit more, which was great to have a Hera really, kind of like, you know, getting some stuff done…I just finished it, and it was an absolute blast. I loved every minute of it. So I can’t wait for people to see it.” Hera was more of a B-plot in the initial season, with the main focus being on Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, but it seems like she’ll become part of the main plot as the series progresses.
Aside from Winstead’s updates, director Bryce Dallas Howard confirmed she’s completed her two episodes. Filming started in the U.K. in April of this year. Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine) shared a photo of her and Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) in costume to tease the new season. There is speculation among fans that filming will last through October, as Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) recently cancelled a convention, perhaps to work on set. Ahsoka Season 2 is expected to release in 2026, but there is no official announcement for a release date yet.
