A new cast member has been added to the cast of Peacock’s Twisted Metal. According to Deadline, Mark Hamill will be taking on the role of Pope Charlie Kane in season three. The lore of Sweet Tooth will be built upon in the upcoming season, as Hamill's character is reportedly his estranged father. Pope Charlie Kane is the leader of Eastern Sovereignty, a faction that controls the East Coast of the United States and is based in what was formerly New York. Season three of the series is scheduled to start filming in the summer of 2026. An official release date has not been named at this time. There will be ten episodes in total.

Executive producer and John Doe actor Anthony Mackie commented on the addition of Hamill (via Deadline), “For Mark Hamill to come into this world with us is amazing. He’s someone I’ve admired for a long time — a true legend who’s influenced generations of actors. Being able to now call him a castmate is an incredible honor, and we’re excited to see what he brings to the world of Twisted Metal.” Other members of the cast include Joe Seanoa as the physical actor and Will Arnett as the voice actor of Sweet Tooth, Anthony Carrigan as Calypso, Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, and Saylor Bell Curda as Mayhem.

Twisted Metal is based on the post-apocalyptic video game franchise of the same name. The series follows talkative Milkman John Doe as he is tasked with a potentially life-changing delivery across the wastes of what was once the United States of America. Combat via suped-up cars is heavily featured. For a video game-to-television adaptation, it has performed modestly. The first season had mixed reviews, a Rotten Tomatoes score of 67%, and a Metacritic rating of 55 out of 100. The second season performed considerably better with higher reviews, a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score, and 74 out of 100 on Metacritic. While the next season isn't expected for some time, the previous two seasons can be streamed on Peacock.
