If you want to assemble the ultimate team of heroes to take on Darth Vader, the Emperor, or anyone else in the Star Wars universe, you will soon have the opportunity to do so. Lucasfilm Games, Zero36 Studio, and CCG Lab are joining forces to create a new Star Wars collectible card game for iOS, Android, and PC.
Although the yet-untitled title will be the first Star Wars video game within the collectible-card-game genre, it is by no means the first card game set in the galaxy far, far away. In the mid-1990s, Decipher released the Star Wars Customizable Card Game. When Decipher lost the license in 2001, Wizards of the Coast—creators of Magic: The Gathering—took over the franchise. Fans still keep the original game alive today through unofficial updates.
More recent card-based titles include Star Wars: The Card Game, Star Wars: Destiny, Star Wars: Unlimited, and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, which allows players to collect characters and deploy them in turn-based combat missions.
The partners behind the new CCG bring substantial expertise. Zero36 Studio has earned a reputation as a specialist in competitive gaming across multiple platforms, making it likely that the new title will support cross-play, enabling seamless switching between mobile devices and PCs without progress loss.
“The opportunity to develop a game for the Star Wars galaxy is a profound honor for our studio,” says Hades Lu, head of Zero36 Studio.

Seattle-based CCG Lab specializes in creating collectible card games, has developed its own “CCG Engine” for managing complex card mechanics, and previously collaborated with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on the 2023 release DC Dual Force. Cory Jones, CEO of CCG Lab, is equally enthusiastic:
“Together with Zero36 Studio and Lucasfilm Games, we’re creating something truly exciting for players and fans alike — an experience that celebrates the joy of play in the galaxy far, far away. Our mission is to craft an experience that captures the thrill, adventure, and heart of Star Wars — a game that feels instantly familiar yet constantly surprising.”
