San Diego Comic-Con always has plenty of announcements for upcoming projects, and this year is no different. Sterling K. Brown was in attendance on behalf of his political thriller, Paradise. However, he didn’t just talk about the show; instead, he teased the fans about the upcoming live-action Voltron movie from Amazon.
While plot details remain under wraps, Brown did say, “It’s heartfelt. It is big. It’s big, bodacious, and dynamic, and that’s why it probably takes about 48 weeks of post-production to finish the thing off and get it together. I think things will be widely entertaining”. He also mentioned how if they get the chance to do a sequel, he would definitely sign a contract to be in it.
It is unknown what character Brown will be playing. He would not answer questions about his character and would not confirm whether he is playing one of the five pilots, alongside helper Coran, who formed the mighty Voltron in the 1984 animated series. What he has confirmed, however, is that he will be playing a character from the original IP.
Rawson Marshall Thurber is the screenwriter and director of the Voltron movie. Brown says that “he’s come up with a really wonderful vision to reintroduce something that we grew up with in the ‘80s to the 2027 crowd”.
