Google partnered with HBO Max to pull a prank on fans of the Game of Thrones prequel series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The search engine, well-known for its built-in Easter eggs linked to specific searches and convincing April Fools’ Day pranks, made a subtle reference to the season one finale of the series. When a user types the name of the series into the search bar, the suggested correction on the results page reads, “Ser, did you mean: A Knight of the Nine Realms.”. This references the perspective of Egg, whose actual name is Aegon Targaryen, when he states that there are nine kingdoms in total, rather than seven, counting two established after the Targaryen Conquest.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a prequel to the events of Game of Thrones. Set 100 years in the past, the series follows Sir Duncan the Tall, played by Peter Claffey, and his squire, Aegon “Egg” Targaryen, played by Dexter Sol Ansell, as they traverse through Westeros. The first season focused on George R.R. Martin’s novella, “The Hedge Knight.”A second season is in the works with a projected release window set for 2027. This season will be based on the novella, “The Sworn Sword.” Season one of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms can be streamed on HBO Max.
