5 'Rogue One' Characters Who Should Appear In 'Andor' Season 2?

ANDOR POSTER

Andor took Star Wars fans by storm when it was released back in 2022. Not only was the series more gritty and mature than any other content we had gotten from Star Wars, but it was also some of the best content to be released on Disney+ and had easily the best writing on any Star Wars content to date. The series followed Cassian Andor as he changes from a low-level criminal to the rebel that we met in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As we all anxiously await the arrival of season two which is slated to land sometime next year, let’s take a look at five characters from Rogue One who should appear in the second season. WARNING!! Contains spoilers for Rogue One, Andor season one, and Star Wars Rebels!

5. Ahsoka Tano

This may seem like it is completely out of left field, but follow me for a second. I know that Ahsoka does not appear in Rogue One, but she is pivotal to the Rebellion and would be a perfect addition to season two. Especially since she works closely with Hera and the Ghost crew, and in season 4, episodes 3 and 4 of Star Wars Rebels, we see a direct tie-in between the crew and Rogue One. If you listen closely you can also hear them call for Captain Syndulla over the speaker in Rogue One making it clear that they are directly tied to each other, and Hera’s immediately recognizable ship, The Ghost, is seen throughout the Battle of Scarif. Ahsoka is also officially part of the live-action canon, so it would make sense to see her, and possibly Hera, play at least a small role in season two.

4. Palpatine And/Or Darth Vader

While on the surface this suggestion may seem like fan service, it makes sense with the timeline of season two and the structure of season one. In season one, we see every level of power under Imperial rule, so it makes sense that after the iconic scene at the end of season one we would see the higher-ups, especially Palpatine, coming into play and trying to quell the rebellion that is beginning to rise on Ferrix. Vader also plays a pretty large role in Rogue One, so leaving him out of Andor makes absolutely no sense.

3. Bail Organa

Senator Bail Organa has been a pivotal part of the rebellion in all content except for the original trilogy. We know that he worked closely with the Rebellion and Mon Mothma, so I was honestly surprised to not see at least a glimpse of him in season one. As the Rebellion grows on Ferrix and Mothma continues to work on growing her network, it seems inevitable that Bail will be pulled into the fold. I am hoping to see him play a role similar to the size of the one that Mothma played in season one.

2. Galen Erso

This character’s appearance in season two feels like a no-brainer to me. He was pivotal in the construction of the Death Star and was the one who put in the weakness to make sure that it could be destroyed. He probably would not play a large role in the season, but with them bringing in the construction of the Death Star it would make no sense to leave out the scientist who designed it. I would expect that he will either appear in flashback sequences or as a captive of Krennic's, similar to the role he plays in Rogue One.

1. Orson Krennic

First off, I love Ben Mendelsohn, so any opportunity to have him in more Star Wars content is an immediate yes from me. Thinking about the timeline though, his involvement is needed since the finale of Andor season one gave us a glimpse of the construction of the Death Star. Krennic is the Director of Advanced Weapon Research for the Empire in Rogue One, so he is directly tied to the Death Star. Since season two is obviously going to deal with the implications of the weapon being built, he has to make at least an appearance, but hopefully, he may even be a side character!

Rogue One, Star Wars Rebels, and Andor season one are available to stream on Disney+.
