With John Favreau's name attached to any project, the anticipation is always palpable. The upcoming Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Disney+ series is no exception, especially with the recent casting announcement for the lead actors: Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen.
This series is a passion project for Disney CEO Bob Iger, who acquired the trademark in 2006. The character, which entered the public domain in 2023, holds a special place in Disney's history. Oswald, first created in 1927 by Walt Disney, was utilized in 27 animated shorts. However, in 1928, Universal gained control of the character, paving the way for Walt Disney to create the iconic Mickey Mouse.

Regarding the casting announcement, Ravi Cabot-Conyer from Skelton Crew and Encanto fame, will portray a hardworking student named Jake who has a huge heart. Mykal-Michelle Harris, whose past credits include Raven’s Home and Mixed-ish, will play Jen, a creative middle school student who seems to be one step ahead of her peers. Ryder Allen, known for his role in the HBO hit series The Penguin, will play Taylor, a middle-aged student who is cautious yet loyal to his friends. Each of these characters brings a unique and compelling aspect to the series, promising an engaging and entertaining viewing experience.
A release date is not set for the series, but fans are eager to find out what comes next for this anticipated series.
