Actor Henry Cavill was injured on the set of Highlander, damaging his leg and postponing production. He took to Instagram to update fans regarding his condition. The actor included photos of himself in various stages of strength training workouts, as well as the more clinical side of physical therapy. Ever the gamer, Cavill captioned his post with a quote from the character Dak’kon in the 1999 video game Planescape: Torment, stating, "Endure. In enduring, grow strong." The actor is attending physical therapy, focusing on strengthening his physical abilities in both the upper and lower body, as well as receiving electrode treatments to support his recovery.

The injury in question occurred while the actor was training for his role in the Highlander reboot film. Cavill is set to be the film’s lead, the immortal 16th-century Scottish Highlander Connor MacLeod. He officially joined the project in 2021. The original Highlander was released in 1986. Although it did not perform very well at the box office, it achieved cult classic status and spawned several follow-up films, television series, and web series. The Its plot centered around MacLeod and those born immortal, following their secret war for power and to be the last of their kind standing.

First announced in 2009, the Highlander reboot was thrown into development limbo for a handful of years before it continued onwards. The film truly began to move forward when John Wick film creator Chad Stahelski was tied in as the film’s director in 2016. Other members of the cast will include Russell Crowe as Ramirez, Karen Gillan as Heather, Dave Bautista as the Kurgan, Marisa Abela as Brenda, and Drew McIntyre as Angus MacLeod, as well as Jin Zhang, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang in currently-unnamed roles. While you wait for this project to wrap up development, a variety of Highlander franchise content, including the 1986 film of the same name, is available to stream on Tubi TV.
