Back on August 22, 2023, Ahsoka Tano graced the screens of Disney+ streamers, where the former Jedi attempted to prevent Grand Admiral Thrawn from returning to the galaxy. In those eight episodes, Ahsoka came face-to-face with her former mentor and friend, Anakin, and aided in Ezra and Sabine’s victory over Thrawn’s Night Troopers. Luckily for fans, those eight episodes were not going to be their final appearances. According to The Direct, the second season is “expected to deliver long-awaited answers while introducing several significant changes to the show's status quo.” These “changes” come after the “confusion” of Ahsoka’s second season absence while The Mandalorian and Grogu were announced. Nonetheless, Star Wars fans will see more adventures in galaxies far, far away.
One thing Ahsoka and Star Wars fans are familiar with is the emotional journeys each character takes—confronting the figurative and literal ghosts of their past, questioning core beliefs, and trying to find joy in between the fights for their lives. Finding joy again will be a key plot point for Ahsoka in the second season, as well as “allowing” herself to “engage more openly with others”. Ahsoka relying on a community will result in more screen time for Hera—another major change for the second season—and bring more emphasis on character development, “rather than relying on large-scale spectacle” where a large budget is required.

Given the primary focus being on characters and their development, viewers will notice how each character changes throughout the eight-episode season. Ezra undergoes a physical change from being a thick-bearded rebel into a “clean-shaven” and “refreshed” character, whereas Baylan Skoll is now portrayed by Rory McCann, made famous by Game of Thrones. Both are reported to play pivotal roles in the recent season, contrasting with the disappearance of Nightsister Great Mother Klothow, and her future remains unclear.
According to The Direct, “by the time [the second season of Ahsoka] does arrive, fans should be prepared for multiple notable changes that the sequel season has undergone ahead of its debut.” Nonetheless, Ahsoka’s new season premiere is going to be greeted warmly by fans while streaming The Mandalorian and Grogu.
