'Tomb Raider' Filming Paused Due To Sophie Turner Injury

British actors filming major action projects can’t seem to catch a break in recent months.
Tom Holland and Henry Cavill were apparently both injured while working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Highlander, and now, another Brit joins the club. Sophie Turner, probably best known to fans from her turn as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones and as a young Jean Grey in Fox’s X-Men franchise, has been injured while shooting for the Amazon Prime Tomb Raider streaming show.
The nature of the injury is unknown, so it may have happened off-set, but the end result is still a delay in the project’s schedule. How much this will affect the show’s release timeline is unknown, as Turner was spotted last year shooting action sequences for the show, suggesting several months of work has already taken place.
The injury may have something to do with a “perpetual back problem” Turner briefly mentioned while speaking to Julia Cunningham, host for SiriusXM, but again, there is so little information on just what has happened, it may be up to interviews weeks if not months down the line to reveal at least a little more.
Joining Turner in Tomb Raider will be Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Celia Imrie, with a script written by actor-writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
