KPop Demon Hunters (2025) has had a streak of wins since its release, and the film is adding another to its repertoire. The film's soundtrack has reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart, maintaining its position for the last 12 weeks. This overtakes Sabrina Carpenter’s most recent album, Man’s Best Friend, and Morgan Wallen’s 2025 album, I’m The Problem.  The soundtrack is the first to chart at this level since the 2021 Disney film Encanto, which charted in 2022. Not only is the whole soundtrack on a hot streak, but a HUNTR/X song is specifically winning as well!

The group’s song “Golden” has peaked at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been at this spot for the last five weeks.  This puts the group on top of all other animated bands in terms of charting. The previous record-holder was The Archies for their 1969 song “Sugar, Sugar,” charting on Billboard’s Hot 100 for four weeks. The Archies were from the popular Saturday morning cartoon The Archie Show, a markedly different form of media from KPop Demon Hunters (2025).

The film has several other songs on the Hot 100 as well.  Two Saja Boys songs claim the fourth and fifth spots, “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” respectively. Three other HUNTR/X songs are charting as well, including “How It’s Done” at eight, “What It Sounds Like” at 15, and “Takedown” at 21. All of these songs have been floating around the list for a multitude of weeks, fighting amongst themselves to be on top. These fictional groups join the ranks of real K-pop artists who have charted, both past and present, including TWICE, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, BTS, and Wonder Girls.

KPop Demon Hunters (2025) is an animated musical following an idol group whose members moonlight as demon hunters, HUNTR/X, and their fight against rival group Saja Boys, idols who are actually demons in disguise. It began streaming on Netflix on June 20, 2025, and had a limited theatrical run from August 23 to August 24 of the same year. The film is currently Netflix’s most-watched movie, totalling 523.6 million hours watched in the first 91 days of its release. Plans are in place for a sequel, but there is no update on its development status at this time. In the meantime, KPop Demon Hunters (2025) is available to stream on Netflix.
